Exodus 14:14 “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
When battles arise in my crazy and chaotic life, I am eager to fight them on my own. I mean, I can do it, right? Wrong. It is a hard concept to grasp: not doing everything on my own. Giving over the reigns and letting go of the controls – it’s tough. But, when I am handing my life over to a powerful God who can move mountains and calm seas, I begin to intentionally loosen my grip and let Him take the lead. Have I completely given every aspect of my life over to His control? Absolutely not. Not YET at least. It takes time, but no matter how long it does take, He is always there waiting. Waiting with broad shoulders to take my cares and worries away. I am slowly learning. Learning to trust that God really does want what is best for me, learning that it is okay to not know what the heck I am doing in life, learning to let God fight for me. Ultimately, learning to be still.
